Clinic Policies

Cancellations and No-Shows

​

As appointments are held specifically for you, it is important that clients attend their allocated appointments.  If you are unable to make an appointment, or you wish to reschedule, it is asked that you provide a minimum of 48 hours notice.  A reminder text/email will be sent to you 24hours hours before your appointment.

 

As cancellations and no-shows have a large financial impact on a small business, failure to provide sufficient notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment will result in the following cancellation fees.
 

·       48-hours notice will incur a fee of 50% of the service total

·       12-hours notice will incur a fee of 100% of the service total

·       No-show without notice will incur a fee of 100% of the service total.

Please ensure that you do not come to an appointment unwell. If you fail to reschedule and attend the appointment unwell, you will be charged the full amount of the service and turned away.  In the case of unexpectedly becoming unwell, please give as much notice as possible to cancel or reschedule your appointment.  If you cancel due to Covid isolation or test positive, the cancellation fees will still occur.

 

We understand that unavoidable circumstances can arise, and in the case of an emergency we will do our best to accommodate and work with you, however, please do understand that this is our livelihood and is our full-time job and cancellations have a large impact on our business. 

 

A credit/debit card is held on file in case fees are required for late cancellation or no-show. Please note, that we cannot view or access your card details, and will only charge for this reason.

Important

We are fully qualified in all treatments and services that we offer. If you wish to see a copy of our relevant qualifications, please submit a request by email. We have also passed all council regulations and carry a council license. 

 

Please note that any reactions to treatments are not foreseeable by The Skin Science Clinic's skilled and trained staff.  Unfortunately, while allergic reactions are very rare, there is always a risk. Whilst care is taken, no refunds will be issued for reactions. We will offer corrective treatment and product if a reaction occurs. Please contact the clinic immediately

if you become aware of an allergic reaction so we can assist you as quickly as possible. You can become allergic to the ingredients in the products at any time, if you need to seek medical advice, you must do so and at your own expense.

 

Clients aged 16 or under will require parental consent for all treatments, with no exceptions. 

We will not tolerate any rude, disrespectful or anti-social behaviour. We reserve the right to refuse a service to any person.

 

While we love your little ones, please do not bring them to your appointment. We have sharp tools, hot wax and chemicals spread throughout the clinic, and while we wish we could accommodate children - it is unsafe to do so. 

 

Late to Appointments

Arriving late to your appointment will interfere with your treatment, all appointments will end at their scheduled time. If you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment, we may not be able to complete your full appointment and your time will be cut short to not interfere with the next client's appointment time. Thank you for understanding that our time is valuable.

Opening Hours

 

We have set opening hours - please see our contact page for opening hours.  But if you require a product or to see The Skin Science Clinic outside of an appointment, please contact us ahead of time to arrange this as we may not always be in clinic at all times.

Consultation

Before your first treatment, you will complete a verbal and written consultation. We must know about any medication or allergies you may have, please use this time to advise us of any concerns, and before each appointment, notify us of any changes. Aftercare advice is given at the end of your treatment. It is your responsibility to adhere to this advice, if you disregard this information, it is at your own risk. Treatments for clients under the age of 16 require parental consent.

 

Gift Vouchers 

Gift vouchers are issued by The Skin Science Clinic. These have no value until activated at the time of purchase.  Our gift vouchers can be used for the purchase of products or treatments.  Gift vouchers may not be returned, redeemed for cash, or transferred.  Any unused value on a gift voucher expires one year after the date of issue. To use, you must present the gift voucher for full or partial payment at the time of the appointment.  The amount of any purchase will be deducted from the voucher. To check your balance and expiry, please contact us in the clinic.
